Meet The Founder

I’m Cynthia Forthon, the founder of Velvette Noir and an entrepreneur who believes that being yourself is one of the most powerful things you can do.

For me, entrepreneurship is an act of creativity, trusting your vision, finding the courage to begin, and bringing something personal into the world. I believe authenticity matters in what we create, how we show up, and the lives we choose to build.

Velvette Noir is an expression of that belief. I wanted pieces that bring confidence, comfort, and refined style together, moving naturally from a workout to travel and everyday moments. When I couldn’t find the balance I envisioned, I decided to create it.

I see personal style as a form of art, a way to express who you are without having to explain yourself. My hope is that Velvette Noir gives women room to embrace their individuality, feel at ease, and move through life with confidence.

My passion for health and fitness is part of that purpose. I care about helping people feel good every single day, not only in what they wear, but in how they move, care for themselves, and build happier lives. I want to encourage everyday choices that make room for well-being, confidence, and joy.

This brand is part of my journey as a founder, but its purpose reaches beyond clothing: encouraging women to trust themselves and show up authentically.
